Strange. As time goes on, I'm growing ever more conservative. I am getting to the point where I would like to see every welfare office dynamited, and the majority of government spending to be made on guns and bombs to wipe Mecca off the face of the earth.
Experience teaches the observant that government only does one thing really well - destruction. Best that's applied to our enemies. Experience also teaches that government is not there to dispense "goodies", it is there to enforce the rule of law. It's peculiar some people seem to be "unlearning" over time.
Regards, Ivan
Why should Republicans have to water down their agenda and become moderate anyway?
The RINOs still have most of the money, though. That's how they hold on.
Tell that to Reagan in 1980 and the GOP Congress in 1994.
"So when is the AP going to run a story about the moderate Joseph Lieberman and how the extreme left is stabbing him in the back?"
Lieberman talks a bit like a conservative but his votes always tilt liberal. Unless he changes party affiliation I will basically ignore him...all talk and no action.
Buh Bye!
BS. What social "issues" is she talking about? In truth, she means not "issues" but "issue": as in abortion. Liberals are slowly losing that battle, and it terrifies them.
"Treasonous John" McCain has his own sack of negative "baggage that is far bigger than Bush's.
"At a fundraiser not far from Saratoga's famous racetrack, McCain warned of a tough election season and said the threat to Northeast moderates could drive a geographic wedge through U.S. politics."
How about a stake through the hearts of the RINOS??? Far better than a wedge.
Time to step on their fingers, watch them fall and not look back! For their will always be more being born like Graham and Brownback to fight off.
I believe that line was delivered by Arnold Schwarzenneger in "Commando". He should take heed of that advice.
"Liberals are slowly losing that battle, and it terrifies them."
Apparantly it also terrifies backstabbing RINO's and GOP squishes who keep throwing them a rope to hang on.
To all the moderate republicans out there - don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out this November.
Do us all a favor and join your liberal buddies, you're just filling up a place a good conservative could occupy. You'll feel better, you won't feel so much personal guilt being openly liberal, and we'll feel better because you'll be wearing your true colors and admitting what you are.
And isn't that the most important thing, that people accept themselves for 'who they are'?
Truth is, without these moderate Republicans holding their blue state seats, the Democrats will take power and the result of that will be midnight basketball, cut and run in Iraq followed by nerve gas attacks in Dallas malls, pro abortion maneuverings, pro gay marriage maneuverings, gun confiscation and a more open border policy than any yet proposed.
There is no way around this. It is reality.

Guy, there is a primary for every one of these seats in New England. If a conservative could persuade the voters to select him over the incumbent, then he'd have his shot. If he is not successful in that persuasion, the fault is ENTIRELY his. His failure to persuade blue state liberals of the superiority of his philosophy is his. It is not the party's and it is not the voters'.
Without these seats we'll have gun confiscation, gay marriage and pro abortion maneuverings at every turn of the clock.
This is reality and there is nothing you or I can do about it.
You play to win or you cross your arms, stay home and forfeit the game.
Exactly right. A true Conservative, that is to say, one who opposes unrestricted abortion as immoral and cruel, cannot win election to national office in most Northeastern states. My state (NH) may still be an exception, but I doubt it.
Joe Lieberman is considered extreme in his own party these days. we live in wierd times. lol
Last time I checked, they had won...
moderate Republican = liberal, a--kissing, spine-challenged Republican.
