Because you have made it clear that you think God's Word is important.
I am grateful for all that Jesus has done for me and I depend on Him everyday. As St. Paul said:
When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now.
20 Therefore, by their fruits you will know them. It's apparent from the stories of Dives and Lazarus and of the Good Samaritan that it is the Will of the Father that we should be helping others.21 Not everyone who says to me,'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
That in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Lazarus was a friend of Jesus, according to Scripture. Jesus raised him from death, to prove His Divinity.
The Good Samaritan is a parable. It is about a man from another culture who took his time to help a stranger, despite a difference of religion. It proves the goodness of God, and the unworthiness of man.
As to Dives, I will have to defer to Johnny Weismuller.
At to the "will of the Father", He makes it clear, if you have eyes to see! Helping others comes as a response of moral behavior. That is admirable, but it is not the core of the Gospel. It isn't what gets you past the Throne.
but, all I see and read on your threads has been the antithesis of "Christian behavior"! It's not unexpected. It's just a shame that so much energy is wasted. they could use it in California, I understand..
I wrote, above, about the Parable "Dives and Lazarus." That is the story about the rich man, Dives who goes to Hell because he would not even give the scraps from his table to the poor man, Lazarus.
What would Jesus have done if He were at the hospice whenTerri was being denied food and water?
Only if Christians who hid Jews from the Nazis, were exhibiting the antithesis of "Christian behavior"
Please explain how the parable shows the unworthiness of man.
We are commanded by Christ to treat others as we would treat ourselves.
Recently I described certain types of people who project their own failures as "haters call people they hate haters." This recent one really illustrates what I meant!
The dialog made for a lively discussion while I was away from the keyboard and draws for other visitors a clear comparison between our own response and the rabid one. It is sad to see someone so pent up with bitterness he or she uses the very symbol of Our Lord to inflict that anger.
He or she needs our prayers.
HARTFORD -- Michael Schiavo, whose battle to remove his brain-damaged wife's feeding tube incited a national debate, came to Connecticut yesterday to figuratively and literally embrace U.S. Senate candidate Ned Lamont.
"I'm here today with a man who knows the difference between personal and political decisions," Schiavo said during a news conference outside the state Capitol.

Terri on the road to recovery before the second stage began.
A hearing is coming up, putting Scott at risk once more. It is happening soon.
Liza has asked for extra time at the hearing... as she is now fighting for co-guardianship. Scott has indicated that he does not want to see Liza or have any further contact with her, nor does he want her to have anything to do with his guardianship. Scott did indicate that he would still like to see his son Logan, but without Liza present.
Please keep Scott in your prayers, especially this Monday morning @ 10:10 am. May God's will be done in keeping Scott safe and staying where he is now so that his recovery will continue.
New Hearing Scheduled for Monday, July 31st!

God bless you and protect you, Scott.
In 2003, when Gov. Bush goaded the Senate to intervene in the Schiavo case, Sen. Villalobos objected, saying, "We're being asked to actually try a case without knowing the facts." Now, he has been judged guilty of moderation, and Gov. Bush, the Lord High Political Executioner, is ready to hand down the maximum penalty.

I didn't know there were hospices in Galilee.
Do you think that man is replacing God's will, by artificially extending life, with medical science? Is it a Godly activity, or an act of defiance? Is it only delaying the inevitable?
How many people are kept "alive" to keep their family members and friends from being upset by their loss? That is selfishness personified. It isn't about saving life, and it surely is the antithesis to trusting God.
It's all about your feelings, friend! God is still in control, no matter how many Terri Schiavo's die in a bed, or however many babies die in abortion mills, or however many people starve today throughout this sinful world! You focus all this attention on one dying person, but ignore the rest of the LIVING. That is what the Samaritan story tells us! Enjoy your air-conditioned churches, and your padded pew tomorrow! I will.
Have a nice mutual-admiration society day! I do appreciate your prayers, if you are Christian brethren and sistern...

Gallagher Team: We have some great news today.
As you know, earlier this year, Treasurer Gallagher was the subject of politically-motivated complaints filed before the Florida Ethics Commission. The Commission met today to review the results of its investigation and to determine whether there was any reason to believe the Treasurer had violated any of our states ethics laws.
The Commission found that every single issue raised by others in their complaints was dismissed. The Commission found that the Treasurer did not misuse his office; that he did not give preferential treatment to any company in which he owned stock; and that the Treasurer did not use any inside information for his personal gain.
This is validation of Toms character and his commitment to leadership on behalf of the people of Florida.
The Commission did find that the Treasurer may have improperly held small amounts of stock in two insurance-related companies for brief periods several years ago. The Treasurer himself brought these issues before the Commission and asked for a review to clear up any confusion about the matter. Both issues involve technical violations, and the Commission found that there was no intentional wrongdoing on the Treasurers part.
There will be no further investigation by the Commission.
Were happy to have this behind us.
We have 39 days left on this campaign. Lets go win this thing.

Gallagher for Governor
FV says: Please spread this far and wide. The other GOP candidate will try to smear Gallagher through the Florida Saturday papers before the truth as posted above gets out. They already tried in today's Tampa Tribune. It was pretty lame.
"AHCA staff will work with Charles Milsted to provide the workgroup with feedback from. AARP members regarding FloridaCompareCare.com. ..."
FV says: AARP practically OWNS Crist, the part that isn't already rented out to Donald Trump and those pesky trial lawyers. Crist is a LIBERAL. The AARP is not the only organization for seniors but that's the one who glommed on to him.
And what exactly is floridacomparecare.com? Another web site possibly that has Crist's blessing? Are we paying for FloridaCompare.com through our tax dollars? Crist means more govt!
I'm sposed to be taking a freep holiday but so far, it's not working. LOL
Pinellas Cty and some politicians in Tallahassee are corrupt and unfortunately, they are RINOS in bed w/left wingers.
