Ms. Heard,

I'm a "decorated combat Marine." I think that EX-Marine Jack Murtha is a disgraceful piece of trash, as are you. Neither of you bothers with the slightest presumption of innocence, as both of your articles drive home again and again.

I hope my comments were among those in 119 that you found especially disturbing. Trust me, the feeling is mutual.

The difference, of course, is that one of us is actually familiar with combat.

A little history of this Jihadist loving excremist, Linda S Heard.

http://www.habtoor.com/anenemycalledapathy/l-1.htm

Linda Heard is a British editor, journalist and columnist currently based in Cairo where she is a correspondent for the English-language Saudi daily The Arab News. Besides the writer’s weekly column in the Gulf News and regular articles in Shindagah magazine, her political commentaries have been published in Ahram Weekly, the South China Morning Post, Athens News, Palestine Chronicle, CounterPunch, Alternet, Online Journal and Outlook India.

While acknowledging that she is a daughter of Wales, Linda considers herself to be a true citizen of the world. A period of over 30 years away from her country of birth - living and working in 16 different countries - has taught Linda a powerful lesson: we are all brothers and sisters under the skin. It is this principle, which has guided Linda more than any other in her passionate penmanship on behalf of victims of racism, discrimination and injustice, whether the perpetrators are individuals or states.

Linda’s road has often been a lonely one since she refuses to align herself with any political system, party, activist group, or campaigning society. Without the constraints of ‘belonging’ and having to toe an official line, she strives to be an objective observer of the international political arena.

However, after many years spent in the Arab world, including Dubai - where she was the Editor of both the Emirates In-flight and the Dubai Airport publications - Linda has grown to love the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf. “When I hear the hauntingly beautiful call of the muezzin, I know I’m home,” she is known to say.

Due to decades of witnessing so many good things about Arab culture - hospitality, compassion, charity and respect for family values - Linda feels that the Arabs, and even Islam, are currently being maligned by leaders of Western powers to suit their own power-led agendas. “Portrayals of Arabs as backward or barbaric have long been themes of Hollywood movies,” she says, “and since September 11, the often gagged and compliant Western media has followed suit. The truth is very different.”

Linda urges critics of the Arab world - most of which have never even met an Arab, let alone visited an Arab country - to spend some time in the United Arab Emirates. “This is the place where in little over three decades the desert sands have been rolled back to make way for parks, gardens and golf courses; home of the world’s tallest building; the constructor of the world’s only man-made islands able to be seen from space, and most importantly, where citizens from almost every country live together in peace and harmony,” she says.

The writer’s greatest ambition is to witness an end to the terrible suffering of the Palestinian people in her lifetime and a viable Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. She would also like to see a multi-polar world instead of one where a hyper-power is able to ride roughshod, unchallenged.

Coop, we have a pro communist, pro Jihadist and pro Palestinian pseudo writer here.

One of these day when Iraq is really free. They will do what Israel did with the Nazis. They will have special forces and auditors connect the financial dots between Excremists like Heard and the Islamofascists. Then they will bring these pro terrorists back to Iraq for trial.

Heard and the other pro Isamofascists who have enabled the slaughter of hundreds of thousand innocent Iraqi during $addam's reign of terror and afterward have left a well documented electronic trail of their coverup of the real mass murders in Iraq. Some day Heard and others will pay for these War Crimes.

The fact that this murdering troop has the support of even those 119 posters is worrisome. Surely, nobody should defend the indefensible based on some false notion of patriotism.

Really? Is the trial over, or has this author appointed herself the judge and jury for the whole world? (She's got to be one of those white elitist liberals.)

Why not wait and see if the military men actually did something wrong before demanding their beheading?

Ms Heard,

We in the USA believe in and live by, innocent until proven guilty. The trial is not performed in the news, it is performed in a courtroom. Evidence is presented on both sides of a story and a determination of what occurred will be decided.

As a person who served in the military, I served with some of the finest men and women in the USA. The US military personnel are willing to put their life on the line to save people they don't know but only know that they have a job to do and they perform it to the best of their ability and with honor, pride, and with fearsome actions when needed. English history would be Nazi history now, if not for the US fighting men and women.

Right now, the evidence is being collected and the trial has not taken place.

I believe that you will be "eating crow" once this event is over, and I look forward to your apology and retraction.

If you look at the stories over the last 4 years, there have been many times where a US serviceman has been accused of doing some wrong. There have been a majority of the times where the US serviceman have been exonerated after the facts have been tried and put on trial. There have been much fewer times where the US serviceman has been convicted of a crime once the evidence is examined.

There have also been a lot of times where the terrorist have staged events and made a lot of wild claims. The US soldier have been crucified in the press till the investigation is completed and the truth has come out that the place/time was close but not right and the event was staged and the MSM was used and the American fighting man was exonerated. Once the US serviceman has been found innocent, we hear nothing from the MSM to say they were wrong and why they were wrong. Evidence, facts, are what trials are made of, not your presumption of guilt because of a few people in a town occupied by terrorist make a few claims.

Ms. Heard is perhaps ignorant of history. IIRC a standard tactic of the Vietcong terrorists was to infiltrate a 'friendly' village, wait for an American patrol, open up on them from hiding, then flee into the jungle, leaving the helpless villagers on the wrong end of American firepower.
Al Qaeda in Iraq, unlike certain left-wing journalists, is well versed in the history of warfare, and most likely have made an intensive study of the battles of Vietnam.

Ms. Heard and her colleagues on the Left make it sound as if US troops would surround a building occupied by a handful of terrorists and a large number of women and children, and then when the terrorists refused to surrender burn the building to the ground, keeping the local fire department at bay while everyone inside burned to death. That would never ha. . .
Oh- wait. That was Janet Reno at Waco.

Ms. Heard,

Why do you and your ilk demand "one more look" at the evidence for people on death's row that have been found guilty time and time again? Now you wish to even dismiss charges against these Marines, much less a trial.

Acting as ambasadors is not the purpose of the military! Trooprs are trained to fight in defense of our country! That kind of thinking is what will ruin the military. Leave the job of being ambassador to the State Department!

Military personnel should act as ambassadors for their country and behave according to international rules of law and the Geneva Conventions that were drawn up as a result of atrocities committed during the Second World War.

Not the brightest bulb in the drawer -- is she.

Dear Linda,
Sorry about your public school education, but even and 8th grader should know enough about the Geneva Conventions to know they weren't "drawn-up" as a result of anything in WW2.

Start with dictionaries and encyclopedias and work your way up.

P.S. Word of advice. Go ahead. When you need a soldier, ask for a diplomat.

"Military personnel should act as ambassadors for their country and behave according to international rules of law and the Geneva Conventions"
according to the geneva convention, if you are a non uniformed combatant, or are housing a non uniformed combatant, said combatant and people or persons housing them are not offered geneva convention protections, and as such can be shot on sight.

"Danger is part of the friction of war. Without an accurate conception of danger we cannot understand war." - Karl von Clauswitz, On War, 1832.

Clauswitz Quoted.

Ms. Herd is incapable of understanding war.

I hope one of mine was offensive to Ms. Heard, too.

I hope it was one of those posts where I refer to the media as a bunch of Marxist, cappuccino-drinking, loafer-wearing, lying, distorting, leftist-agenda-driven weinies who hang out in the bar of the Palestine Hotel making stuff up or getting their misinformation from that bitter, pusilanimous pismire Jack Murtha.

I hope it was one of those posts.

No rush to judgement here (since the investigation is still ongoing). If these troops actually killed all these innocents in cold blood, well, I'm sure they'll get what they deserve.
