I think it's a pretty good use of time to point out companies with an anti-American bias, especially on Memorial Day...and especially from the belly of the beast (Seattle), where Memorial Day celebrations have been canceled due to a "lack of interest."
You spend the day the way you want to, I'll spend it the way I want to.
By the way, if you're so busy with beer and brats, what are you doing responding to my google rant?

Google is commie, no doubt about it. Owned by commies and coordinates with Chinese commies.

My arcane 2006 calender shows May 29 as Memorial Day observed and May 30 as Memorial Day. It was always May 30 until the gov't decided we would spend alot more money if we had a 3 day weekend. Besides, everybody already knows that Google is run by a bunch of commie symps.
Like I said, I am withholding judgement until tomorrow. Thanks SE Mom

Me thinks EEE and ERF have some investments in the Gaggle. Yes, I do.
It's called the "Saving me time when I look up stuff" investment.

I noticced the absence of Memorial Day icons on Google also, before even reading this. I notice they have recognition of all kind of other days, but why not this one?

I noticed the absence of Memorial Day icons on Google also, before even reading this. I notice they have recognition of all kind of other days, but why not this one? I'm not sure. They're run by a bunch of liberals.
But the bigger issue is that are they preventing people or other websites from honoring Memorial Day. I mean, really. A private company doesn't have a Memorial Day graphic on its webpage. The End Times are nigh, I tell ya!
To: Mobile Vulgus
I noticed this one also. They have decorations for every other day but not memorial day. I'm looking for another search engine.

Google makes NO MONEY when you search. The only way it makes money is if you click on a Sponsored Link, which shows up on the right when you search. Ah. But here you can actually cost Google money. Google has a relationship with the Mozilla browser. Mozilla contains a window which is default set to Google (you can get plug-ins for literally dozens of other searches, everything from imdb to wikipedia). When that window is used, Google accrues a micropayment to Mozilla, even if you don't click the sponsored links.
So you can take money out of Eric Schmidt's pocket (he has so much he won't miss it), and use it to support quality open source software (meanwhile using a browser that does not create a vector for malware into your system, assuming you use Windows).
And it's all via the free market, and you can still get the Google search results to which you are accustomed... if you like having the first eight or ten items being bogus link farm sites that are run by fraudsters to scam folks, go for it.
And as far as the "sponsored links" that XL mentions... how many of them are actually any use? I had to search for palestinian terrorist Leila Khaled today, and the sponsored links offered to sell me Leila Khaled. No thanks. I've lived in muslim lands, and I understand why they bag their women. I would too... I could never date an Arab chick, I like having the largest moustache in the relationship.

I don't expect much, but I'm naive enough to want to believe that those that work there are just bucking the man, so to speak, and wait until the 30th. Have a nice day anyway.

Thanks for posting this. Just confirms my decision to NEVER google. I mainly use clusty.com. I just went to clusty.com and they aren't commemorating Memorial Day either. Screw them, I'm never going back there again.
