Ridiculous statement. Saddam backed down from lots of fights. Remember "Cheat & Retreat"? IOW, it was Saddam's strategy during the sanctions-phase to push the envelope until he got smacked down -- then he'd retreat. Sounds like "Backing Down" to me.

Perception and Symbols are not reality. The statement concerned how some Iraqis perceived Saddam, not the reality of Saddam.

That said she is a left winger, who apparently never met a terrorist she didn't like...at least she became a target because she was a Western Infidel and an American.
