Her condition must be terribly grave if she had to have surgery twice in Baghdad. Last week I watched the HBO documentary about a military hospital in Baghdad. I clearly remember the doctor saying that they don't operate in Baghdad if they can avoid it because "Baghdad is dirty". Those needing surgery are sent to Germany unless they just can't wait.

Kimberly was taken to Landstuhl overnight, so she is in the better hospital now.
All they said this morning on the overnight news was that doctors removed shrapnel from her head, but that her most serious injuries are to her lower body.
