RUSH: Now, folks, as I say, I've got all this figured out, and when I told you this wasn't about immigration, I was right; and when I told you that what this is really all about is the Democrats wanting and needing some new victims, I was right; and when I said this was all about politicians, particularly Democrats wanting new voters, I was right. But I was not a hundred percent right. I was close. To sum this up -- very simply -- what this bill is, this is not an immigration bill. What is being done here is being done under the guise of immigration reform. What this is, is a huge attempt by certain politicians, mostly moderate and liberal Democrats and moderate Republicans, to expand the federal government, to increase the numbers of people in poverty in this country by importing them via this immigration bill, which will set up the need to expand the "social safety" net in this country, which will then empower those who believe in big government.
It is also designed to provide a free flow of cheap labor for businesses that want to access it, and with the few limits on legal immigration that this bill imposes, we're no longer talking just about Mexicans. We now can import workers from all over the world who want to come in for the purposes of achieving and accessing the American dream, and believe me, if certain American businesses want to get labor cheaper than what they have to pay Mexican immigrants, they want to get them from Ethiopia, they want to get them from Sudan, here's an opportunity to do it. It really is no more complicated than that. I mean, you cannot read this bill and conclude anything else. This bill is senseless.

Half of California is definitely gone. But I don't see anyone willing to stop the process, deportation is never discussed, and soon enough you will be overrun, too. If not by illegals then by the tsunami of legal migration the Senate and White House are setting in motion.
Some things are too obvious to engage in a meaningless discussion that merely repeats and restates one's position in a futile attempt to coerce agreement. The original comment is out there. Agree, disagree, ignore it or raise something worth discussing, otherwise it stands on its on.
Mondale's old speechwriter Krauthammer?
Weather it is planned or not, it has that effect anyway. So it is possible, IMHO.
Thanks for the invitation but I don't bait easily....
It's planned alright. Increasing the size and scope of gov't is their mission.
Mine are De"Whine" and "Cry me a set of tears on the Senate Floor" Voinovich.
I'm telling you, I would love to get up there and take both of them to the woodshed. And I bet a lot of Ohioans would love it!
Darrell Issa (a House rep from a San Diego county area - is on the committee which takes the two bills and tries to make some kind of compromise). According to Darrell, who was on Mark Larson's program the other day KOGO 600, the House committee members are loaded for a fight over this bill. They are totally opposed to most of what the Senate has included in their bill - and Darrell says the House members are ready to take a tough stand against it.
I sure hope he really meant it .. because we're going to be madder than hell if they cave to the senate.
I think you're right. This immigration issue wasn't even on their radar at that time, was it?
I think this was a conservative movement issue and they have thrown it back at us and declared war. I think the insane liberal reaction ( the senate bill ) is a hail mary pass to preserve their future power.
Nicely said to an officious jerk
One thing that I find is interesting that I've been in bigtime disagreement with Rush on is that he has always maintained recently that this nation is becoming more conservative. Yet, in this latest, and very accurate and solid diatribe, he is indirectly admitting that the opposite is happening politically.
Since none, or very few, of our elected representatives now actually do what they actually campaign on, this nation is not at all becoming more conservative. It's sliding towards liberalism at light speed.
This bill could be an opening bid with lots of throw aways. It could be designed to scare the living daylights out of us, so that when a bill that contains exactly what we started out against, guest workers, ad nauseum, passes we will breathe a sigh of relief.
If that happens, it means that democrats and republicans, and both houses, will have worked together against the people. The implications are anyone's guess.
I hope to hell I'm wrong.
Fred is becoming the White House's own Juan Williams!
Our battle is not with the Senators who voted on the "Senate Version" on the bill....the two bill are "oceans" apart.. with the house version being a MUCH BETTER BILL !! our battle is with the Senators who will go to conference with house.. which I just found out will be ALL MEMBERS of the Judiciary Committee and then some additional Senators yet to be named by Reid and Frist !!!...
WE NEED TO LET THESE FOLKS KNOW that we SUPPORT THE HOUSE VERSION !! NOT THE SENATE VERSION !!! now get er done !!
---> for now we can focus our efforts on the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE MEMEBERS !!!

You don't even know how to fashion an answer.
I will ask you a third time, Mr. Lawyer/Professor.
WHAT ABOUT WHAT RUSH SAID DO YOU FIND A PROBLEM???
HOW CAN I POSSIBLY BE BAITING YOU FOR A SIMPLE ANSWER?
Get your head out of your butt, you poser.
Nice try. Why don't you demonstrate some anger?
When it comes to political insight no one and I mean no one has the keen insights that El Rushbo has. He is right on. At the beginning of this debate he was just as much in the dark as all of us.
