Agreed and let's not forget Pete Townshend prohibited the usage of the song for "Fahrenheit 911" because he had issues with Michael Moore.

My vote would go the “House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals. Arguably a conservative song, with a dark, anti-drug message.

Agreed.

Semi-related...I saw what's left of The Who a few years back at the Hollywood Bowl. Right at the climax of the song, right during the buildup of the drumming and before Daltrey screams...

a drunken teen hopped on the cement block in front of our seats....directly in front of me, and started playing air guitar. I was so ticked off.
