You say "has deserted his sworn duty to protect and defend this nation"
I use the word traitors.
Is there a difference here other than semantics?

yes, but also that they are only one 'madras' that feeds the covenant of the larger collective effort. I think personal greed and power served along the way keeps those having second thoughts in line, apart from having seduced most of them in the first place. JMO....

I think there is a substantial difference. My complete quote would make it clear I was referring to the president's performance on the immigration issue. I can not call him a traitor which has a substantially different and far more negative connotation and implies motives I can't prove or justify. In addition it was not clear who you were referring to and I took it to be the Freepers defending the amnesty plan. I am trying hard to stay away from calling folks names on this forum because I have observed that it shuts down intelligent debate and is a tactic used by those who irrationally support Bush in all cases even when he is wrong, specifically to attempt to limit the debate that will clearly (to me) reflect negatively on his performance. I won't continue an argument with you that is off topic but I would ask those who support Bush's (and the Senate's) Amnesty plan to come fairly debate its specifics. I don't believe it can be rationally supported. I am extremely disturbed by Bush's performance on several major issues and this one is a blunder that can not only seriously damage the Conservative cause but render serious permanent damage to our republic. I think the answer to the delimma is coming down very hard on those in Congress who are backing up this nonsense, not by calling them names, but but withholding funds and votes. Those are the only two things they seem to understand. In the meantime we need to educate as many voters as we can on the fallacies of this nonsense legislation that the Rats and RINOs have initiated under Bush's blessing.

Well, I did send Lamar Alexander an email thanking him.
I am just SO disappointed in Bush and Frist.
We need to have a massive march on Washingt5on.
If someone can organize it I'll be there.

Hi there,
Others on another thread are talking about recalls for Senators who sold us out. They don't know how to get the process started.
Do you know?

No, but I bet someone on this thread does.
I'll see if I can find some info on it.
The traitors to this country who have the R beside their names need to be held accountable.

No problem:-)
I think there are enough American CITIZENS who are so upset and angry about the Senate sell-outs, that they are wanting to see if the can Recall.

Cindy McCain had a stroke last year (suffers hypertension) and John boy managed to come home and check on her for a day or two before he was off to parts unknown again. He spends as little time here in AZ as possible.
I like Kyl, too....he's in a very tight race this time.

I've decided to call it the "Ya'll come" bill.

The Senate thinks so little of conservatism it voted to bust the federal budget caps - just for illegals! Now ain't that grand. In addition to giving away the country, our Senators see fit to saddle future generations of Americans with a massive debt. There's one sentence that to me captures the essence of this so-called bill perfectly: its really an entitlement bill, neither being about immigration or reform. What it amounts to in a word, is Socialism For The Third World. I expected the Democrats to vote for it. But here you have moderate Republicans embracing it just to destroy the conservative movement in this country. All these people take us for fools. If this piece of obscenity becomes law, it will be a very, very, very, very long time before Republicans ever run our federal government again. Guaranteed.

I'm truly sorry to hear that about Cindy. Poor thing. There's no telling what she's had to put up with over the years.
Who's running against Jon Kyl?

Okay, thanks.
Be sure to go to JustPiper's newest thread---"You Can't Sit On the Fence On Immigation.
There are listings about which Congress people support amnesty and which ones don't, etc.
