It's a great day to be a Republican... (you won't get that angle from any MSM about this story, today)
W and company rode in to town in part to clean up the Culture of Dishonesty that festered throughout the 90's.
The corporate finance reforms hammering dishonest business practices were forged by Ashcroft. Martha was part of it.
This conviction is the crowning acheivement of that cleanup.
Looks like Ken is going to be put on the LAY away plan.
Either way, I suspect that Skilling and Lay will go to jail for many, many years...
Lay and Skilling need to give their souls to Jesus, 'cuz their a$$es are going to belong to their cellmates...
Now, the question will be whether they have to file their appeals from prison or remain free on bond.
Knowing Judge Sims's history, they'll be in prison. Maybe not until the sentencing hearing, but immediately thereafter.
And an appeal won't do any good. We're in the 5th Circuit, not the 9th Circus.
When's the sentencing?
What an Enterprise ing statement!
Two thoroughly dislikable fellows- who I'm SURE are honestly shocked by this verdict. They were/are as out of touch with reality as the Senate.
Wonder why Robert Rubin was never indicted for trying to get Bush's Secretary of the Treasury to lie about a bond rating so he could get his Goldman Sach's clients out safely.
Those two look like slimy used car salesmen.
Chances are they are going to be in a "country club" facility. The environment there is usually strictly blue collar.
Who has a summary of Lay's ties to slick Willie?
Yes, PTL - who KennyBoy said was on *his* side. Ha!
Like that he was supposed to have been on the plane with Ron Brown?
I'm sorry to hear that. I have two friends who also got hit with that. You may have even known them.
That whole thing just burned me up. Especially when Linda Lay tried to get sympathy from people while others had just had their retirement savings wiped out.
>>hey, when do they have the trial for the folks who did the same at Global Crossing? /sarc
And will Terry McAuliffe have to caugh up any of his $18 million?
You must live near me. I live a couple of miles from the Ken Lay YMCA.
Ken Lay is probably in shock.
Maybe God wasn't on his side! LOL
Send in Bubba.
