Guilty.

And their assets should be sold off to compensate the many victims of their misdeeds.

People put their life savings in to their hands, and they blew it all away....life in jail, and sell off all of their assets.

The Enron affair has as much to do with BJ Clinton as it does with W.

He says he's on trial for his "life." Gimme a break. Luckily, there are even more trials (civil) for these two to come.

I think that both will be convicted. 5 days is not long for a jury to be out for a trial of this magnitude.

Just this morning, the jury requested the entire transcript and multiple copies of the exhibit list. They got the list but not the transcript (that would take days to transcribe). I guess they decided that they didn't need it.

Psst. It has nothing at all to do with W. Pass it on.

Not guilty. Jury took too long to come to a decison.

If they're found not guilty, those jurors better be heading for the hills and never show their faces in this city again.

THEY ARE GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!

Federal sentencing guidelines will prevent him from serving more than 20 years.

"Federal sentencing guidelines will prevent him from serving more than 20 years."

Absolutely incorrect

I'd be okay with 20 years.

That, and removing Ken Lay's name from the YMCA around the corner from my house.

Not for a 4-month-long trial and very, very complex testimony.

It would have been longer for the verdict, but they didn't get the read-back of the transcripts they wanted today. Legal consultant felt that a majority were wanting to use that to help get 1-2 off the fence - then didn't need to do so, for some reason.

I reiterate my predictions from the Free Republic thread for New Year's Predictions for 2006 posted last December:

Jeffrey Skilling and Kenneth Lay will be convicted on charges of conspiracy and fraud for their parts in the collapse of the Enron Corp. CEOs and Board Members across the nation will be astounded by the extreme severity of the prison sentences imposed.

Not guilty. Jury took too long to come to a decison.

What are you talking about? The trial lasted almost four months and the jury has reached a verdict on the sixth day. That's not long at all to review all of the evidence in this trial, considering multiple counts.

The jury didn't want to hang around for the holiday weekend. You know that had something to do with it.

I would rather see Sarbanes and Oxley go to jail. They've done much more damage than Skilling or Lay.

Those jurors already convicted before they started deliberating. They went down the 50+ page verdict sheet and took a hand vote on each one and found him guilty every time. Then the slept on it - debated a few things - and the debaters decided they didn't believe they were innocent enough to come back after the holiday weekend.

These guys are going down hard.
