But the political class is an elected group. It contains both Shiela Jackson Lee and George W Bush. I can't see how that's a "class." You can define subcultures, perhaps. Ivy leaguers. Lawyers. Blue bloods. Lots of ways to categorize. But classes? I don't think so. People move up and down throughout the income strata.

Well in your example Huck, I can certainly see how one has class and the other has no class.

My only reason for placing government officials, elected and non-elected in a separate class is that they seem to believe that the rules do not apply to them. In some cases their assumption is correct based upon the Constitution but they have gone over the top in their conviction that they are untouchable.
