I cannot agree more. I haven't been here for a long-long time, and...nothing has really changed. The same people peddling the same old prejudices.

Actually, I have been a subscriber to this magazine...not any more. Precisely because of this article. Not the article itself, rather the title they have given to it. The article is a usual crap, nothing really to talk about; the guy have never been to Russia proper, he went to Ukraine and Gergia and met some anti-russian folks, also he talked to some liberal Prof at U of Toronto. But the title...You cannot see it, they have never showed it anywhere, except the print version, probably ashamed of it. It is not "Back to the USSR". The title they have put on the front page, in bloody red shade, with Putin's face, of course, reads "Russia goes to hell". A bit wishful thinking on their part. But my subscription is over.

Basically, blind haters are always stupid. Those who are from Canada should remember the "evil reptilian kitten-eater from another planet". The same sort of stuff.

Basically, blind haters are always stupid.

They lose perspective, because their hate blinds them.

I spent a few weeks in Georgia last May and was hard-pressed to find Russia-haters. Even since the whole pipeline thing, I am in contact with friends in Tbilisi, and don't hear any hatred from them.

I think the press is just like here to some extent, they find the extremists and run with them. The problem is that here, so few Americans have been to Russia or other countries, that they believe everything they read or see.

I remember oh so well in the late 90's watching a show here about Russians standing in line for bread. We stayed up and called Russian friends, offered to take their two kids here for the summer. Because the whole implication was that Russians are starving....and our friends laughed and laughed about it.

Americans need to learn to take this crap with a huge grain of salt, and maybe even visit Russia or Georgia( my favorite) themselves. And stop believing what they read here. Each and every one of those press machines in Russia was owned by a mafia whore for some time. They all hate Putin because he is trying to do what Yeltsin never bothered with - put down the rule of gangsterism.

After that, Ho-hum. Another anti-Russian post - and probably written by someone who has never been there, learned the language, or spent time with her people. Will wonders never cease?

Americans are absolutely clueless as to the genius that has come from Russia and how grateful we should be. Dostoevsky, Gogol, Rublev, and above all Rimsky-Korsakov!!
