I'm afraid that for some, freedom equals license........"I can say what I want when I want because I want to, and you can't stop me."
Those of us who support the President who are left on this board..........who have not given up in disgust........are going to have to put up with the attacks, and just do what I suggested earlier.........get on all threads about President Bush and attack them with the truth. Calmly state the facts that are being disregarded, and talk among ourselves to refute the lies that are being told.
And we just have to consider the source, and leave it at that. We know who the President is, and HE knows who he is.........and we know what kind of people we are dealing with........... and that is going to have to suffice.
I mean the DOSE among other threads like FR's Finest and the Hobbit Hole and Canteen threads remind me I'm not alone in my support of the President.
There ARE trolls, disruptors, and BUSH HATERS here, for whom nothing he has ever done or said has been any good.
You've added nothing to this thread, All you did, by posting what you did, is try to engage in gratuitous flaming. Go back to sleep...
If we ignore their posts; they get bolder.
If we give it back, though not in kind, they turn it up several notches.
Perhaps we need to try the IGNORE MODE for a while.
I was thinking about this today while driving through Fort Bragg. You are quite right.
I was thinking about the world my parents (WWI, Korea) knew, and the one I currently dwell in.
I think I can synopsize the difference: In the here and now, it's all about "who loves me" versus my parents generation who were on about whom they loved and cared for and about -- rather than who loved them. I see our soldiers submitting their lives in order to serve, and their families who love them and would do anything for them.
May this kind of love grow.
Good for you Ohio! I don't hate Bush either but the illegal immigration thing is serious stuff and concerns me greatly. I live in South Texas and its horrible down here with the crime, overcrowded hospitals, gang violence, drugs, new diseases etc. etc.
Hey Ohio that is a pretty state my brother lives there and I do love to visit your state.
Regards DN
I never attacked the President. I complimented him and then added a mild indication of concern about immigration... and was attacked BY the people on this thread. So when certain people start in about how terribly they get treated, know that I have a very small violin playing for them.
Something serious has to be done, and I am FURIOUS with my two Senators for voting for SS for illegals.........2 out of 11 Republicans. Just shameful!
Anyway, we do have a beautiful state.........and right now it's very WET. Tornado watches for the rest of the evening.
Thanks for the pleasant conversation. THIS is what it's supposed to be all about.
only 32 nays.
32.
I may become a border bot......
:-(
Very nice. He's not perfect, he's not Reagan, but he's worth standing by.
If he's doing nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan, then Truman was doing nation building in Germany and Japan. He didn't go back on anything.
What would they have thought of Al Gore, John Kerry or John McCain?
Dang straight. If Democrats acted like us we'd have had President Dole in '96. Only hardcore pro-abort activists would have voted for Clinton.
What would the Founders have to say about Al Gore, John Kerry and John McCain? What would they have to say about a nation where John Conyers runs the judiciary committee, Schumer runs appropriations and Nancy Pelosi is Speaker?
If you think American troops in the Middle East is the reason 9/11 happened, you know so little about radical Islam that you should resolve never to discuss it.
The founders would hang the whole lot of the senate - republicans and democrats alike. It would be a holocaust.
I think Dubya's very tough, don't get me wrong. But I think it's just not as bad for him as it is for those who like him. I think he tunes most of it out, if not all of it, out. I think if Don Rumsfeld, Condi Rice, Tony Snow or Mitch McConnell told him a policy was dumb, he'd listen. But Harry Reid? Pat Buchanan? Georg Will? Cindy Sheehan? He hasn't got time for that crap.
FDR was of the opinion that Thomas Jefferson was the worst President the Republic ever had. Of course, that's criticism from a socialist, so I'm not sure how useful it is. :-)
From 1941 to 1945, I would have been an FDR-bot. :-)
