Someone on another thread mentioned that play "The Deputy". That was a comment well worth more thought,I had forgotten how it changed most of what was,into what many came to believe,was.

If I remember correctly,Roth Holstreuth,the writer was an east german communist seeking to take the heat off of the brutality and death Russian communists had wreaked on innocents after the Revolution and thereafter. And what better way than to blame the Pope and the Church. It has always been such an obstacle to those who would be god.
