I think a big rant about cruelty and negligence in the sport was particularly out of place in an event where no abuse is being alleged here, and they just spent a small fortune to save this horse.

It reads like the talking points from a PETA pamphlet. Exaggerated claims and other 'facts' that are just plain wrong.

No doubt. There was not even a hint of abuse or neglect. I don't know why somebody always has to be blamed. Even the vets said the breaks were all during the race and nothing else had anything to do with it.
