Makes sense- except that barren desert will be a whole different ballgame in terms of construction and logistics. Legal costs are a different issue altogether.

Okay. I'm skeptical of that claim as well. It strikes me that what the wall is Israel is having to control, (car bombs, suicide bombers, etc.) is not what we're up against here, and I don't see us needing the kind of fortifications that they require.
