I don't understand why so much credence is given to Da Vinci's INTERPRETATION of the Last Supper. I mean, was the guy there or something? No. So why does HIS painting a person appearing to be female mean Jesus was married.
Furthermore, I personally don't care if Jesus was married. The Bible says he died without sin. Unless you consider sex with your spouse "sin", he died without sin.

The attack on Jesus is only tangential to an attack on the validity and reliability of scripture. The point of the subversive aspect of the movie is that the church from the earliest was involved in a cover-up. Thus, everything in scripture is open to being debunked, including Jesus' death and resurrection and his life without sin.
I don't see how anyone can see this as anything but an attack on Christianity. If the subject were Moses or Mohamed and a conspiracy begun by their earliest followers, Jews and Muslims would be in outrage.

Furthermore, I personally don't care if Jesus was married. The Bible says he died without sin. Unless you consider sex with your spouse "sin", he died without sin. In Matt 19, Jesus says that marriage is permanent according to God (Moses allowed for divorce because the people were too hard-hearted). If Jesus was already married then how can the Church itself be His bride as the rest of the Bible proclaims?
Even this "minor" note matters in Christian belief...
