Bush's top advisers have recommended a broad new approach to dealing with North Korea that would include beginning negotiations on a peace treaty, NYT planning to report in Thursday Page Ones... Developing...
They're starving for food and energy, and SK has an adequate supply of both.
Also, they've been sabre-rattling for a few years now, and will likely see/promote a treaty as a victory over the US.
I fail to see the up-side for peace and stability with this move.
(Now in Cuba's case, with Fidel's impending demise, I see some rgeat opportunites for in-roads that can lead to positive results.)
hahahahahahahahahaha
It would seem. :)
Please include links and historic references.
(Perhaps you can get some hints from the troll who was banned last night claiming the same thing, and causing my negative reaction).
I'll be waiting. Thanks.
Is it your opinion that such posters should be permitted to continue posting without question?
As one who is not in 'lock-step with every move Bush makes,' I am curious as to why you think that invaders from DU shouldn't be called on it.....
No one on this thread (or anywhere else on this forum for that matter) was doing what you have analyzed the 'real problem ' to be.....
Feel free to ask any Mod about the consistent invasion of this forum of 'visitors' (is that less offensive to you than 'trolls?') from DU, or other anti-FR sites.
My comments are based on the facts.
hehehehe
Can't come up with it, eh?
Then I win. :)
(BIG surprise against an obvious intellect like yours.....)
Mr. President,
I trust that this communication finds you and the First Lady well.
Id like to congratulation you on the fine speech you delivered the other evening. As I listened to your words, I could not help but compare their sincerity with the increasingly shrill rhetoric of those who have continually attacked you since taking office.
I know you are a man of conviction, a man who follows his principles and not polls; in short, a statesman, and not a politician. I am thankful for that in my daily prayers.
Least your staff become disheartened by the increasing volume and direction of the attacks, I would remind them that we elected you to lead us in this time of great peril. When I say we, I mean the common everyday Americans who simply go about our daily lives without becoming swept up by surreptitious political agenda or fear of our government. No matter how imperfect our current elected government is, it is we who chose it.
We did not elect the journalists who manufacture news and polls to suit their political agenda. Nor did we elect the single issue advocates or talk show hosts who market conservative values for profit. Although they each claim to know the secret to make our government perfect, they do not have the courage of their convictions to run for office and affect change. Instead they attempt to circumvent our will and the election process through demands, threats, cajoling, creating dissent and claiming to speak for us.
These people do not represent your base, any more then they represent we the people.
Stand firm and proud, you are doing a fine job.
God Bless.
*snicker*
You, indeed speak for "we, the people".....AND the base.
Thanks again!
If you follow what their media pumps out... they'll PAY to surrender to the North. I look at our 35,000 US troops there and see MacArthur's forces in the Philippines on the eve of the war in the Pacific.
My wife, sons and daughter-in-laws are all writing along with a lot of retired Coasties...and we're each looking for at least two more people to write letters. We're kind of tired of the clowns who claim to be speaking for us.
And exactly WHOM are you trying to impress with your searing intellect, and grasp of history?
If your only goal is to make yourself look silly, you are succeeding admirably.
If your goal is to irritate me, and make me respond in a childish manner you are failing miserably.
I actually urge you to keep it up. It's good to see what one of our most avid anti-Bush freepers is really made of. I'm enjoying this 'debate' immensely, and can't wait for your next exposition. :)
btw, I really enjoyed your whining on Pukin Dog's thread yesterday. But it wasn't nearly as good as this stuff.
And I will carry on your goal of inviting two others to write as well.
The President, though he does nothing just to get personal approval, should at least know how many people are solidly behind him.
Good idea!
Thanks for joining in. It's time the President heard from the people who actually elected him.
And you know, I don't personally or publicly know of anyone who supported him before, who no longer supports him now. Disagreeing with individual policies or decisions is not the same as this wholesale abandonment by a noisy few.
We just need to let him know how us 'real people' feel.
Don't disappoint me know, kiddo...........OK?
know = now
