I was perusing this thread and noticed Travis McGee has been banned. That is quite a shock to me.

I always thought of him as one of the very best posters on FR and also one of the most illustrious.

Not certain I want to stay on a site which would ban him.

Yes. I read that thread in which he was taken out. He was pointing out that if illegal immigration was allowed to continue spinning out of control it would eventually cause balkanization and violent conflict. He expressed his hopes that, if it did occur, that everyone who was responsible for the policies that allowed/encouraged it to happen would perish in that conflict. He was accused of "advocating violence" and nailed.
