It is good. But the border is 2000 miles long. 83 miles are currently fenced. This means that 453 miles will be fenced. Which means that 1547 miles will not be fenced.

Yeah, but if you've ever driven out there, it's clear that this fence will stop most of the current crossings. There's some real moonscape out there in those other 1547 miles.

It's a start. And, unlike immigration bills which are only revisted every 20 years, border security legislation can be beefed up every year.

I try not to be a 100%er. Hopefully, the House will insist on 1000 miles of fence and they can settle on 750.

I've driven practically the whole thing, much of it on the Mexican side of the border.

It's clear to me that if you fence the current "riverbeds" of immigration, the "stream" will move inland and cross in the harsher and more remote places.
