I'm for border security I was in favor of an Israeli style barrier as soon as I saw theirs.

And I favor criminalizing being an illegal alien and no amnesty at all.

But its not fair to compare the illegal economic refugees who are overwhelming us with Al Quaida. If even one in a million was a terrorist don't you think there would have been an incident by now?

How about this angle? Arafat was finally shown that he would never ever be successful in eliminating the state of Israel by force. No amount of hijackings or suicide bombings would ever see him attain his goal. So what did he escalate instead of his intafada? He settled on right of return as his sticking point. Why did he do this? Because he saw voting as the ultimate way to beat the Joooos! He decided that the best long term strategy was to infiltrate the jewish state with as many muslims as he could with the intention of one day taking control thru the vote. Some mexican groups are trying to do the very same thing.

They could well be in waiting. How long were the 9/11 terrorists here before they took out 4 planes, 3000 lives, etc. There have been 12 arrests, IIRC, of alquaeda. If we catch only 1% of the illegals streaming throgh, there is probably at least an equivalent ratio of alquaeda sneaking through
