I have to disagree. When they are in the majority, they're pulling out. They saw Duncan's trick for what it was and knew this was not the time.
But in another year or so, I think it's a given they'll leave. Kerry and some others are on record as saying we should get out.
Not generally...I side with the House of Representatives...Doesn't matter...Anyone on FR who disagrees with the liberal Republicans in Washington are considered trolls, DUers and scum by the resident undocumented moderators, even tho I (we, for the most part) agree with conservatives in the House...Doesn't bother me one way or the other but if someone wants unity here on FR, this rant for the most part is addressed to the wrong side of the isle...
How can your account be banned for a whole week, when you have just signed-on?
I have been hammered as a BorderBot myself of late. While I try to keep it civil, that doesn't mean that I have to just sit beck and take it.
The border issue is vital because if the President gets his way and makes even the thirty plus million illegals in this country now citizens, it's already too late. Game over. That is more then enough reliable votes for the Rats to keep them in power for the foreseeable future. This country as we now know it will cease to exist. If you think I'm wrong on this please tell me how you think I'm wrong. What nuance of the Presidents plan am I missing. Mexico is a Narco-State. If this amnesty disaster goes through, we're well on our way down the same road. An earlier poster claims that this amnesty will make Mexico more like us. I say nonsense. History shows again and again starting with the Roman Empire that it will be the other way around.
That's it. It's pistols at noon. I'm in San Francisco today and I could probably hit you from here.
"I'd hate to hand the Speaker's gavel to Pelosi, give up our imminent victory in the courts, and embolden the Democrat party for years to come ... just to "send a message" that never got there anyway."
Well, you WOULDN'T, and neither would I, if it were in either of our control. But it's not.
It's going to happen, because that's the way that people work.
Fortunately, we have the example of 1992/1994 to give us hope that the ship will right itself quickly.
Remember, if the Democrats win Congress, it will only be a few seats. The Republicans voted out are not going to be the solid conservatives, but the guys on the fringes, like Lincoln Chaffee. The remaining Republican caucus will be more conservative. The current political establishment ACTS LIKE they don't get that their political problem is immigration, but they DO get it, believe me. The problem is, there are plenty of business Republicans who don't WANT constraints on the cheap immigration flows across the border. If the GOP loses in November because of the revolt of the Border Conservatives, those against walling the border will be the hardest hit. The remainder are not going to be much inclined to lie to themselves. Rather, they'll want power back.
Of course, the GOP Senate and the President COULD see the light in the next few weeks and give the Border Conservatives their sea-to-sea fence. That will save the party this year. If they don't, though, wishful thinkin' ain't gonna do it.
A captain at sea in a ship may not like hurricanes, but he doesn't ignore them, and he doesn't shoot the meteorologist for giving him a report of bad weather. The prudent captain sails around the storm, even though it takes him from the path he wants to go. The stubborn captain ploughs straight ahead into it and reliance on the seaworthiness of the ship to carry them all through.
He shouldn't have promised not to raise taxes. No one should. Because things happen, like a war, that require it.
Democrats in Congress and held the majority refused to pay for the war with budget requests so the president did the only other thing he could do.
It's not a lie. But keep spinning it that way.
"The president has frequently ended speeches with God bless America."
Yes. I think all of them, even.
Don't act surprised when it happens. And don't bother writing. Trollmail is blocked by my spam filter.
I agree, the lesbian thread was sickening. The pics of women kissing we so filled with conservative family values!
"Anger? No, not me. I would like a wall. But, I am not giving up on it yet. I just know that under the Republicans it MAY get built. Under the dems, it will NEVER get built."
Didn't they say that about welfare reform?
Vitter,(my senator)is speaking.
Not really selective memory, have heard him say it but not when. I was asked by a person to name a specific speech where he said it, and I couldn't think of A SPECIFIC one.
So a lacivious thread with lots of male posters talking about 'I'd hit that!' is appropriate?
And lets not forget the Asian handjob thread that ran most of Sunday (Mother's Day)....
No rudeness intended, I'm just confused.
I never suggested perfection, rather Conservatives must holding a STANDARD of striving to do what is legal, right and best.
