Hey, I guess you're the expert. I just can't find any evidence that the public at large knew the full extent of the lies she told. Everything I've read suggests that she admitted some lies to everyone, and admitted the rest of the lies only to some. I would happily follow any link that indicates otherwise.
One of the articles mentions that she was reported to have lived through five civil wars in Somalia (not true, since she was in Kenya during that time) and suffered a forced marriage (also apparently not true). What I'm reading on some foreign message boards is that people voted for her partly because they believed she bettered herself after surviving the wars in Somalia and a forced marriage. That tends to cast aspersions on her "mandate" by the people. But like I say, I'm willing to be educated.

She said that she didn't tell the truth on her Dutch asylum application. Specifically her age, name and where she had been. As far as her claim of an arranged marriage, there's no reason not to believe her. That's a common Muslim practice, particularly in third world countries.
As far as believing what her "family" now says, I take it with a grain of salt. Their Muslim "honor" has been violated by her and if they are like typical third world Muslim's they will say and do anything to restore their "honor". And the only way they can do that is kill her. She's had a price on her head for some time now.
