But the Hamiltonians hung in there!

Hamilton was a big government statist who despised states' rights. I now see where your adoration for him comes into your ideology in this forum.

And Jefferson was into weak government with no power whatsoever a`la Articles of Confederation. Closer to anarchy. The US really prospered under that system. (rolling eyes)

Federalists preferred the stronger (which does NOT equate to dictatorial) Constitution. Hamilton was a Federalist.

So was Washington, whether he acknowledged it or not. And as Washington is my ultimate hero, and did no wrong, I prefer the Federalists, thank you very much!

Republican or even Libertarian does NOT = anarchist.

I suppose you say that about all the Founders of our Constitution? John Jay? James Madison? John Adams? George Washington?

Hamilton was a Federalist. A nationalist who wanted the country to grow. And prosper. And his support of Liberty dwarfs the pale imitation of todays libertarians... As for big government, he was starting from nothing. He had a huge government debt that was debilitating our country....which he managed to erase with truly heroic efforts as our first Treasury Secretary...

I think it fair to surmise that he would be less than sanguine over the economic "what me worry" philosophy urged upon us today by you and your fellow globalists.
