Not Her Strong Suit [Katherine Harris]
The St. Petersburg Times ^ | 5/15/06 | Sharon Fink

Posted on 05/15/2006 7:24:51 PM PDT by zerelda

Last Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris attended a ceremony with the president of the United States at MacDill Air Force base in Tampa.

It was a critical moment in her campaign for the U.S. Senate, a race her own Republican Party leadership doesn't believe she can win. Her ensemble: a body-hugging, sea foam green suit with lace trim, slit skirt, green open-toed slingback shoes and a multistrand pearl choker.

On Wednesday, state House Speaker Alan Bense declined the GOP's pleas to take Harris on, making her the party's leading Senate candidate. But it seemed people were talking more about that green outfit than any other campaign issue.

They talked about its tightness. Its greenness. Its laciness. And those shoes. They talked about how it might have been a lovely getup for a wedding. Or a garden party. Or perhaps a nice private dinner out.

But she was appearing at an official function at a time one might have thought she was seeking to convey gravitas, not girlishness.

WTF. This must be a Pelosi hit piece. Yeah... Pelosi who needs the Steel and Riggers Union to keep her T*Ts from touching her toes before she bends over. Call it mutual support. And really, I can't ever recall seeing a photograph of Pelosi's feet... not that I or anyone else would want to.

Well OK, it was newspaper resolution and she had waaaaaaaaaay too much make up on.

I have always wondered if she had been set up by the MSM on that deal ... you know, sort of "You are inexperienced with the kind of make up needed for appearing on television, before all those bright lights, etc. ... you will look washed out if you do not use our special makeup "tricks" ... trust us ... we are the experts" ... and she ended up looking like Cruella DeVille. Just a thought.

Wow , I'd love to see what some of you people bashing Harris look like . Probably not a pretty sight , hence all the hate and criticism towards Harris.

Frankly I wouldn't care if she appeared the very likeness of the Wicked Witch of the West, it's her politics that counts. But with the big ugly splash she got in November 2000, it's a subject that's bound to come up during her campaign. She needs to try to look as pretty as possible.

For a woman in her late forties, Congresswoman Harris doesn't have a bad face.

And there's nothing wrong with the tight skirt. It's not like she's Hillary, whose butt has its own Zip Code.

LOL the FL MSM has reached desperation status.

They were hoping the RNC would produce a candidate to run against Harris but came up short. Unable to defeat her on the issues, they have to resort to her style of clothing.

I can't wait for Harris to shove her victory down the media and RNC's throats.

It was a joke, relax.......I would have held her hand, and smiled for the camera. The MSM gets away with things because there is only the sound of silence to rebut their attacks.

Jeb is a good, solid GOP Governor. Beyond that, he has all the leadership of a caboose and wouldn't last a nanosecond in a national role or elected position.

You have to remember, the St. Petersburg Times is one of the truly far-left papers in the country.

"You're wrong ! Nelson has made Algore look intelligent , a once impossible feat..."

Nelson was an astronaut so he's probably more intelligent than Gore. However I'm not sure he has enough personality to fill a spoon.

"Maybe I am a too open on these things but I really dont think her outfit is inappropriate. I suppose people are thing that fact the outfit shows she has breast makes this imappropriate."

I don't have a problem with a women who doesnt dress like a man. Its kinda refreshing. People seem to prefer the way Hillary or Helen dress.

Harris has shown herself an intelligent and passionate politician. She doesn't have the polish of a career politician which is a good thing.

People are so busy throwing cheap shots at her that they don't even bother to see what she stands for.

She needs to lose the lace and look a bit more tailored and serious. Having said that, this is a disgusting MSM hit piece. They never tear apart all the lovely Democrat women, do they/sarc.?
