I am not arguing with the validity of your statement, just the PRACTALIY of it. I don't like it any more than you do. But facts are facts, we have to deal with REALITY. reality is: they are here. Let's deal with it. Weed out the ones we don't want, include the ones who WANT to be an addition to the Nation rather than a drain on it, and go from there. Let's move alone people. It is very practical to deny illegal aliens residing in this country citizenship and very simple to enforce. Their offspring if born on US soil are virtually automatically granted citizenship. That does not mean we should grant their parents the same right, even if they eventually become permanent residents.
