"to do jobs Americans won't do."

I'll see your (((sigh))) and raise ya one. This has to be the defining phrase of this whole issue. I have supported the President and still do over his foreign policy, his tax cuts and most of his choices of SC justices (Meirs is inexplicable).

But on this, I so vehemently oppose him. I respect the man, but he is so wrong on using these insulting phrases, can't get rid of 11 million illegals (translation: we are not even going to try), and we need guest workers "to do jobs Americans won't do." All of these phrases have been disproven.

They are ILLEGAL ALIENS!!!! Not immigrants.

This phase actually works for me. It's true. Perhaps you have not dealt with the industries that employ Mexican labor. For example, the meat industries - all the killing of animals, etc. etc. - it's not pleasant work - crops that require back breaking efforts to produce at harvest time, not pleasant work. Seasonal work; no benefits, no work some days, not pleasant if one has a family to support or even just rent to pay.

We should acknowledge that there are unpleasant jobs out there that no one would choose to do, unless one is at the bottom of the economic ladder or below. If fact, some American minory groups will not do the work outlined above - they would rather be on welfare or sell drugs.

We need Mexican labor, but only in a way that falls in line with our laws.

I have supported the Pres. on almost every issue. Defended him on here and in public. Depending on his speech tonight we shall see how much longer I will support him. Not listening to what I wish is expected. Not listening to what the majority of the American citizens want is something else.
