But do legal Hispanics care about illegals, if I was legal I would not like illegals.
I would say its half and half. I know alot of legal hispanics who I work with who sympathize with the illegals and want them to have citizenship. The others are angry that they got here illgally and are able to stay here.
Many don't. Some do.
You'll enjoy this letter to the editor (today's San Antonio Express-News) by a citizen responding to one of Victor Landa's columns:
In Victor Landa's column "Immigrant debate drowning in bile" (May 7), he states that "immigrants," not illegal immigrants, pay taxes.
Of course they do, just like Landa or any other person pays taxes when he visits another country like Spain, France or Egypt and stays in a hotel, eats a meal or buys a bottle of wine. But that does not make him a citizen of that country.
And he puts himself on the spot when he accurately states that these people pay into the Social Security system with, his exact words, "their false numbers" with no chance of ever getting any benefits.
This is like me stealing my neighbor's MasterCard that pays cash rebates and complaining to my neighbor that I should get the rebates because I did all the spending on his card.
