When the FairTax passes it actually eliminates the incoime tax (and some others), the IRS (and defunds it), the appropriate parts of the tax code, and requires the destruction of the income tax records.
BOTH will not be paid by the American public and the almost 100 year window where this could have been brought upon us should clearly illustrate that.
I understand that is what is SUPPOSED to happen, but I fear that in order to get it passed, after lots of rewriting and negotiating, what we will end up with is 2 taxes. You know what "sneaky ba$tards we have in Congress and they will NOT let go of their current control method which is the income tax.
IF the fair tax could go through and become the new way of paying taxes, I'm all for it.
