No scam at all. Any qualifying taxpayer may receive the prebate which depends upon family size.

The only scam I see is a person claiming that a tax refund is an entitlement when it clearly is not and requires no appropriations bill.

Do you claim the April 15 tax refunds are a scam also?

Funny how pigdog makes such a claim when the family consumption allowance entitles those who do not work for a living nor contribute into the common treasury, to receive the allowance. Drug dealers and drug addicts are entitled to the allowance; burglars, armed robbers and car thieves are also entitled to the allowance; prostitutes and bookies and, even your local un-wed welfare moms who stay at home, do not contribute into the common treasury but makes babies to increase their current monthly welfare check, are entitled to the allowance. As a matter of fact the above would be getting an approximate $400 per month bonus under H.R. 25 for either breaking the law or sitting at home making babies.

I don’t consider taxes paid from ill-gotten gains or taxes paid from a government entitlement check given to welfare moms as contributing into the common treasury. Of course, there are those who say different, but I believe thinking people would not agree.

Now why have a family consumption allowance in the first palce? Surprise, The family consumption allowance would create a new, and massive voting constituency, dependant upon government for a monthly government check.

Were we not warned by Hamilton in Federalist Paper 79 that “A POWER OVER A MAN’s SUBSISTENCE AMOUNTS TO A POWER OVER HIS WILL”?

Any qualifying taxpayer may receive the prebate

The "qualification" doesn't involve payment of the "fair" tax. Scam.

You're (understandably perhaps) ignoring your Tax Protester background, Johnnicakes ... why is that?

Also the ridiculous apportionment scheme failed and was replaced by our first income tax in 1863. Most people would find that informative also yet you ignore it.

Your "socialist" mantra won't help you either, Johnnicakes, but I wonder why you keep ducking your TP involvement? The scheme you keep pushing not only failed previously but it is grossly unbalanced as to how it laws it tax burdens of the different states. Even more unfair than the income tax and it would certainly not solve any spending problems we now have as the states could have unendingly greater taxes foist upon them - which was one of the reasons the tax plan failed originally and helped bring about the War Between the States.

You really think someone will buy nothing taxable under the FairTax system???

Some typical figures have been posted before on these threads that show even the low income earners spend a good bit on money and will pay tax. It's not required to qualify, though.

The "prebate" is NOT conditioned on how much that someone pays, "fair" taxer disinformation notwithstanding.

Sorry moj0, but those folks will all pay plenty in taxes under the FairTax - many of them for the first time since the do not contribute at present under the income-based tax.

I'd already pointed this out to j wk, but you may not have been born yet.

Do you really not understand they all pay tax on things they buy under the FairTax??? Hard to believe you can't see that, but perhaps not.

There's no "smoke" involved ... just the simple truth.

Why am I not surprised. You still believe that each and every one of your arguments hasn't been completely disproven on these threads.

Why would any freedom loving person in America support a proposal which promises to put every American Family on the public dole under a family consumption entitlement? It is also interesting to note that H.R. 25 is not a consumption tax as it is being peddled, but is in fact a tax based upon another socialist idea: from each state according to the value of property taxed therein, to federal tax getters in each state according to their need.

H.R. 25 is an across the board general tax to fill the national treasury laid upon the value of property within the various states___ the very kind of tax which the founding fathers provided the rule of apportionment to be applied to! For documented details see Another observation concerning H.R. 25, the alleged Fair Tax.

And, as I documented above, even the President's Advisory Panel on Tax Reform identifies the family consumption allowance as an entitlement program…the largest entitlement program in America [if H.R. 25 should pass] costing about $ 600 billion per year which would make Hillary Health Care look like chicken feed!

The panel found in its conclusion:

“Like other consumption taxes, the full replacement retail sales tax has pro-retail growth features. Nevertheless, the Panel does not recommend a full replacement retail sales tax. Without a large cash grant program to ease the burden of the tax, a retail sales tax would not be appropriately progressive. A cash grant program to make the tax appropriately progressive would cost at least $600 billion per year – which would make it America’s largest entitlement program. The Panel concluded that it was inappropriate to recommend a tax reform proposal that required the federal government to collect and redistribute this amount in additional revenue from taxpayers. The Panel also was concerned with administrative and compliance issues associated with a retail sales tax, as well as difficulties involving coordination with existing state sales taxes.”

The truth is, The family consumption allowance would create a new massive voting constituency, dependant upon government for a monthly government check.

Were we not warned by Hamilton in Federalist Paper 79 that “A POWER OVER A MAN’s SUBSISTENCE AMOUNTS TO A POWER OVER HIS WILL”?

Why do so many promote this socialist idea when the only tax reform needed is for the American People to demand their employees add the following words to our Constitution:

The Sixteenth Amendment is hereby repealed and Congress is henceforth forbidden to lay ``any`` tax or burden calculated from profits, gains, interest, salaries, wages, tips, inheritances or any other lawfully realized money

See how easy real tax reform is which can also do away with socialism [income taxation]? It doesn’t take 135 pages of bullstuff and gobblygoo, [H.R.25] which would leave us on a sinking ship and entrench our nation with more socialism and big government…it only takes 32 words for the people of America to re-establish a fair system of taxation, our Founder’s original plan, which would also gain control of a runaway Congress!

The servant has become the master over those who created a servant and the new servant pays tribute by taxation to a gangster government which ignores our most basic laws…our constitutions, state and federal.
