You're well-informed, why do you think the Republicans in the Senate are unwilling to listen to the huge majority of the public that opposes amnesty and wants border enforcement?

Because, as I try to tell P-40, it ISN'T having an effect on their elections. Here in OH, for ex., the anti-DeWine conservatives put together only had 25% of the vote. So he figures he can lose half of them on election day and still beat Sherrod Brown, based on the GOP registration figues, and I think he's right.

How do you explain a strong, closed-border person like Bilbray---who is liberal on other issues---performing poorly in Duke Cunningham's district? Why is Conrad Burns, who as far as I know has never been an open-borders guy, in trouble in Montana, while McLame, a complete open-borders guy, is so strong in AZ that J.D. Hayworth won't even run against him?
