Your post has reminded me of the reasons why I like President Bush:

Bush has signed no anti-gun laws in his political career.

Bush hasn’t raised taxes in any way .

Bush has stayed the course and held to his promise not to back down.

Bush hass appointed 2 Conservatives and numerous lower court Conservatives.

Bush pushed for and got the late term abortion ban passed.

I don't agree with President Bush on everything. But I don't agree with any politician on everything. President Bush has done and is doing a great job during very difficult times for our country.

These are all honored accomplishments that I EXPECT from all conservatives.... These require constant vigilance, which I respect.

The fact remains that these are NOT todays immediate issues.....

I don't agree with 100% of my own positions, half the time :-)

We'll never get what we want entirely in one man. Not ever. But the president has kept the nation safe, advanced conservative judges, tried to reform SS, and pushed for an end to partial abortion, among a host of other reforms.

He is also the first president in my lifetime (and I'm not a spring chicken) to at least try and address the immigration issue.

What we have on FR is a lot of democrats who have come here to stir up dissent. The book Hillary's Secret War, for which Jim Robinson wrote the foreward and FR is mentioned prominently, details how the leftists try to infiltrate sites like this one and cause conservatives to question Republican candidates.

Then of course, we have the third party lovers who don't seem to accept that their parties have never won more than 2-3% of any election.

The Republicans in Congress have behaved outrageously at times and I'm disgusted with a lot of them, but they're the best chance we have to change the course of slowly inching forward socialism in this country. For their votes on judicial nominees alone, I'll keep voting the straight Republican ticket.
