A shooting at the Sully District Station in Fairfax County has left two police officers hurt, one suspect injured and a third on the run.
W*USA 9 reporter Doug Buchanan was on the scene of some sort of standoff about an hour after the 4 p.m. shooting in the 4900 block of Stonecroft Boulevard.
He said police are looking for a white Ford pickup that may have been carjacked a short time before the shooting at the station.
Heavily armed police officers were hiding behind trees and looking for something in the area of Paddington Lane, not far from the police station.
Preliminary reports indicated that one police officer was critically injured in the shooting, one was struck in the arm. Sources said one suspect was shot and possibly killed and another got away.
At least one of the injured officers was medevaced to Inova Fairfax Hospital. The hospital is expected to hold a press conference soon to discuss what's happening.
Another source told W*USA reporter Stacey Cohan that the shooting behind the Sully police station might have been an ambush against police officers.

Kinda obvious don't you think?
Could it have been a brave diversion for some larger crime - that won't come to light until tomorrow? Who knows?
Sounds like John Muhammed's white pickup, diversion at work.
