Yes, it is that's all you hear about on all 3 cable channels, and every week they are "in your face" demonstrating if you think that doesn't matter guess again. And it's NOT JUST discussed on FR.

I think you're dead wrong. I have rarely seen an issue that cuts across all political and socio-economic spectra like the issue of illegal aliens and the open borders. On what other issue can you get 70% to 80% of Americans agreeing? Even legal Mexican immigrants agree the border should be secured.
Any politician who does not see the invasion of illegal aliens as a "red hot issue" not only can't read polls, but is likely to be surprised come election day.
