Seriously... the economy, enlighten me.

Wages are not raising as fast as gas prices and healthcare costs. Employers are dumping more of health care costs on employees. A large percentage of American workers dont feel better off even though the stock market is up near record levels. Rising gas prices over time have the same effect as a tax increase, they reduce consumption. Also because of the all the economic change over the past 15 years or so, many Americans are less secure that their job will be there next year, much less next month. If these issues do not concern you, congratulations. However, that doesnt mean that the pollsters are making these numbers up or that the people are too stupid to know how good they've got it.

So now you want the government to guarantee a job for life. Guarantee a salary deemed adequate by your standard.

Any other demands?

If people didn't abuse their health insurance the rates would come down.

If some employees spent more time on their job rather than on the internet maybe they would earn more compensation.

Wages are not raising as fast as gas prices and healthcare costs.

A highly misleading factoid. Your source for this erronous bit of data? Another one of those statistic lies the opposition like to throw out. Technically correct totally meaningless in reality. Comparing the % change in Average wages to the overall increase in health care costs or gas prices is an irrelevant comparison. A more honest comparison would be the % change in health care costs and energy prices as a % of average family income. The change is fiscally insignificant. It may be painful to some individuals who have gone thru a crises or a change but it's over all impact on the economic health of the average citizen is not significant. Life is painful. The idea that everyone everywhere can get thru life with no bad breaks is utter nonsense. You want the massive improvements we have seen in Health Care technology over the last decade, you have to pay for them MOST people understand that instead of whining endlessly about "rising health care costs". If you want a Yugo caliber health care system, sign up for a Yugo priced and quality level health care plan. Screaming for a Limousines level Health Care system at a Yugo level price is childish.

You get what you pay for, there are NO free lunches in Economics.
