I think that is the most ignorant post I have seen today. Medicare is a bigger disaster than Social Security and its impact will be felt much sooner. Do some research - look at how Medicare is funded - look at the costs, both direct and indirect.

Apparently you cant read. The poster was talking about the fact that the Medicare Drug program was becoming a "political" success for the Republicans and Bush among senior citizens, not the disaster that was repored early on. So you dont like the expenditure, well it sure beats wasting money on bridges to nowhere and hindsight being 20-20, the occupation of Iraq for that matter.

By encouraging poor seniors to get medical attention before they need hospitalization this RX plan will save money in the long run.

It's wiser to get blood pressure meds before you have a stroke or heart attack, wouldn't you say?

That goes for detecting diabetes and other ailments that affect seniors.

Do we simply tell them to go to hell or do enable a healthier lifestyle.

It's in our own best interest ultimately, and it's the right thing to do.

I have nothing but praise for this president.

And yes, spending on bridges to no where and subsidizing Sam Donaldson's sheep farm, come to mind.

It appears the prescription drug program, impeachment, and the min wage, and no more tax cuts for the rich, failed or no energy policy are going to be some of the new DNC talking points. Not only did Nanc bring it up, there's a Dim strategist on FNC right now just screeching, lying and bloviating that:

the Americans are feeling pain
Rich are getting richer
Poor is getting poorer
Republicans set bar very low for impeachment and that didn't hurt them in that election cycle
Minimum wage hasn't been waged in X years
Pres drug plan is a failure and it tied congress's hands w being able to negotiate - - plan benefits drug companies
