I think that is the most ignorant post I have seen today.

Well........exccussssssssssssssseeeeeeeeee me please.

Maybe I should have said the "absolutely politically success" of the Medicare Drug Plan. If 90% of seniors are happy with it, you may be just foolish for thinking it is NOT a political success.

Maybe I should have said the "absolutely politically success" of the Medicare Drug Plan. If 90% of seniors are happy with it, you may be just foolish for thinking it is NOT a political success.

And that is the whole problem - take from one and give to another is great politics but a poor way to run a country. Socialism always ends up the same - a bankrupt government and a crushed economy.

This is what so many of us conservatives are rallying against. The Republican party continues to have one political success after another. Unfortunately this is ruining our country.

You need to mark this conversation. In 2011 you will feel the pain of the Medicare crisis. And the fault will be yours and others like you (and mine as well for not being able to educate enough people) who were happy with the 'political' success without understanding the impact it would have on this country.

To put it simply, in 2011 we will either need to eliminate a significant % of Medicare benefits (this will surely make the elderly happy), increase taxes through the roof, or explode the deficit way beyond the current outrageous levels. I suspect our weak-willed politicians will choose the later which will result in an incredible erosion of the value of the dollar which in turn will start the collapse of our great economy.

The best thing about the Medicare bill is that it established Health Savings Accounts-- the first step in health care portability for most Americans. It is a far easier step for government to take over a job being done by employers, than to take over a job that Americans are handling themselves. Putting citizens more in charge of their own Health Care decisions is a KEY long-term shift.
