I would recommend against sleep meds because they do leave you groggy,and you can become dependent on them. One herbal that works wonders is Valerian Root, or a combo Herbal called "nerve" that can be purchased at Health Food Stores for about $8.00 and is made by "Solaray". This product does not leave you groggy in the Am and is good for insomnia, and anxiety and muscle spasms that can contribute to your inability to fall asleep.

I would recommend against sleep meds because they do leave you groggy,and you can become dependent on them.Thanks, but for the occasional and prescribed purpose which I described (jet lag and international travel), Ambien does the trick.
Personally I'd be just as concerned about the long-term use of "herbal remedies" as with any prescribed pharmaceutical. Maybe more so.
