I'm back:

I searched for your error report (C00D10B5) and got referred to the MS website. It doesn't have the same error code (C00D10B3) but you might want to check anyway
====

SYMPTOMS
When you try to play audio content or video content from an online resource, you receive one the following error messages:

0xC00D10B3: Windows Media Player cannot play this file. Connect to the Internet or insert the removable media on which the file is located, and then try to play the file again.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on the Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is located a removable storage card, insert the storage card.

Windows Media Player cannot play any items in the playlist. For additional information, right-click an item that cannot be played, and then click Error Details.

CAUSE
This problem occurs because Microsoft Windows Media Player automatically tries to detect whether the player is connected to a network. If Windows Media Player cannot detect a network connection, and if you try to play online content, you receive the error that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.

This problem will likely occur if your browser is set to Work Offline. Some firewalls may also cause problems resulting in this error.

RESOLUTION

To force the player to always assume that the player is connected to a network, follow these steps:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the Player tab, under Player settings, check the Connect to the Internet (overrides other commands) check box.

Note You may also be able to run the Internet Connection Wizard to confirm the method that you use to connect to the Internet.

To run this wizard, click Start, click Run, type icwconn1.exe, and then click OK. If you have a firewall, see the following Microsoft Web site to make sure that the correct ports are open:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/serve/firewall.aspx#PortAllocation

STATUS
This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION
Following is more information about the Connect to the Internet (overrides other commands) option:• This option specifies whether Windows Media Player is connected to the Internet even if other features are turned on. For example, connect even when the Work Offline option is turned on.

• When you select this option, you are making sure that the player features that require an Internet connection can always connect when your computer is online. For example, Media Guide can connect.

APPLIES TO
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 10

It seems to me that a lot less damage would have done if he had just admitted to having to much to drink and left it that. All this other stuff is actually scarier then mere bad judgement. He should have just said I drank to much and I am an idiot and I am sorry. Scandal Over. IMO.

If you are running Windows..

Press "Start"
"Settings"
"Control Panel"
"Add/Remove Programs"
Look for the name of your program in the list.
Click on it
Click "Change/Remove"
It may require a restart of your computer so that the computer removes the program completely
Reinstall

Be careful when uninstalling, if you're not sure, don't.

They were talking on Rush's show that some reporters have his bar tab from the bar he had been hanging at that night.

There is no excuse for him not being arrested for DUI. I don't care if he was drunk, addicted, or both!

Kennedy is going to enter rehab per CNN.

Isn't that the same thing as the congressional building?

You all are awesome! I dimly recall doing those steps when I uninstalled Adobe Photo Shop, it was so huge, it slowed my system down to a crawl.

BTW: I just checked my setting on WMP based on the MS recommendation.

That box is unchecked on mine and it works fine.

If after checking the box, it works, then thats fine. If it doesn't work, uncheck it, and try again. If it still doesn't work, I guess you need a reload of the program.

I have version 10.00.00.4019 if that is a help

Hey, def, the 55krc site recommends installing newer versions of WMP OVER the older version. They state it is important...but, I wouldn't know - being a computer illiterate myself.

Nothing like the truth to shut down a scandal. Remember President Bush, he did not deny being young and irresponsible. People would forgive him faster if he just took responsibility for being stupid. Most of us have at one time or another been behind the wheel of car when maybe we should not have been.

Here is something you can try before deleting the program.

Open Windows Media Player
Click on Tools
Options
Network tab,
lower section you will see "Streaming Protocols"
Click on HTTP
Configure
Change from "Use proxy settings of the Web Browser". to "Do not use a proxy server"
