OK, so that covered every gas station within one tank of gas range of my home.
And the answer is?

Thank you. Crude oil is fungible....
The only way you avoid making Hugo Chavez and Iran's unspeakable despot happier each time you drive is to invent a car you can fill up w/ something other than a petro-chemical.

It didn't mention QT, as far as I could see. Is that a "good" station?

I was under the impression that Citgo was the major Venezuelan oil importer. Why do business with commies?

We should be willing to pay whatever it costs to avoid giving one cent to these countries, to our great friends.

Here in the Twin Cities, it's at the Holiday stations. The "Blue Planet Gas" is a product of Flint Hills Resources refinery at Pine Bend. Most of the feedstock is from Canada. Privately held company, owned by the Koch family, very conservative, with libertarian influences. F.A. von Hayek's books in the company library!

More and more we're seeing on TV
individuals who are revamping their
car engines and/or adding devices
under the hoods, etc. to obviate
the use of so much petrol. Now I
know as well as I'm sitting here
at my laptop that if the back alley
mechanic can perform these alterations
the "Heads" in Detroit can not only
DO IT, but improve the methodology!
Watch. Some American entrepreneur
is going to put an ad in the paper
saying he'll modify your car for
X $$, and his fortune will be made.
Not long after that, Detroit will
buy him out and squash the invention.

Regardless of where you buy, the prudent thing to do now is buy the least amount you need - even if it means buying three gallons each day.
#1 If gas is $2.90 and you top off and tomorrow it drops in price, you won't be able to take advantage.
#2 If everyone started buying small amounts, when the suply truck shows up he won't be dropping off as much gas. If a number of those trucks return to the refinery with left over loads the refiners might interpret a supply and demand change and lower prices to move more product. #1 - I would not care to bet on which way gas prices will move. If you top off today at $2.90 a gallon and the price drops tommorow you may be out a few cents BUT if it goes up you will be buring cheaper gas for the moment.
#2 - That is the "egg" email, which is invalid due to one major fallacy: There is no mention of reducing total demand over time, so the total amount used would still be the same.

I've been a Sunoco credit card holder for over thirty years, but I must admit that I only learned of their status as a non-importer within the past few years.

everyone started buying small amounts, when the suply truck shows up he won't be dropping off as much gas. Uh so if I buy 4 gallons a day instead of 20 gallons once every 5 days, how is it that the supply truck goes home any less full? You've not changed aggregate demand, simply smoothed out the peaks and valleys.

Not long after that, Detroit will buy him out and squash the invention.
No need for Detroit to spend money to erase competition in
these modern times.
They'll just sic the EPA on him.
Or get DateLine NBC to show one of the modified vehicles blowing
up with a fiery blaze, with trial lawyers soon soaring down upon
the humble little inventor.
Besides, Detroit probably wouldn't have the spare money to buy
out the inventor these days.
