Lynn Stewart was convicted at least one year ago if not more. There is no reason on earth that she should be walking the streets of NYC a free person.

Justice is very strange in NY, and that's putting it mildly.

Hmm, I was a year off, sorry !
Did a quick search, apparently sentencing was to be March this year bit it's postponed as she is having radiation treatment for breast cancer. Sentencing now in late September 2006.

(Of course, here in DFW a local fraudster got released from prison due to cancer - a cancer that then mysteriously vanished.)
