Fed up with the Mexican illegals and their supporters, many of whom are Mexicans also (those who didn't support the illegals were rather quiet)?
Boycott Cinco de Mayo. Stay away from everything Mexican on May 5th. Don't buy Mexican beers.
Negra Modelo is very good, comparable to Dortmunder, but Corona tastes like they just took whatever spoiled beer they could find and then just stuck their label on it.
Don't forget, that was in the 1860's, when the French still had a military reputation! French military incompetence did not fully bloom until the Prussians knocked the stuffings out of them in 1870-71 and during the First World War. The French had a mutiny in 1917 that was so bad there were regiments which were classically decimated (meaning 1 in 10 was executed). And, of course, it all went downhill from there. The French haven't won a war at all since WWI and, since for all of Napoleon's victories he was ultimately defeated, they haven't won a war without help since the time of Louis XIV - except against natives.
We all know the secret ingredient to Corona anyhow...
Isn't the other half owned by the Mexican wife of the American Ambassador to Mexico?
Does the fact that the American Ambassador is married to one of the richest women in the country where he is supposed to be representing OUR interests seem like an unacceptable conflict of interest to anybody else besides me?
I was co-opted by the hospitality industry and the beer manufacturers a long time ago.
I wonder what would have happened if the French won? Maybe they would have sold Mexico to us too?
Mexican beer tends to be pretty good, because of all the German immigrants in the 19th century who brought tradition German beermaking techniques to Mexico. Probably the best is "Bohemia" - a real Pilsner-style beer which you don't see here too often - and, of course, the classic to be drunk with lime, salt and tequila is "Tecate". Dos XX had a vogue in the '70s, when full-bodied beer was virtually unobtainable in the Western US and, of course, Corona has been a yuppie beer of choice for 20 years or more. (I was never impressed with Corona)
I'm boycotting boycotts.
Well just how do you tell the twelve stinking mexican families that own and control all most of the property in mexico that they have to help their own people and not dump them on the USA.
That sounds fair, but how do you make that distinction? And the inability to make that distinction will render your boycott, well, toothless. After all, the boycotts here in the states and in Mexico were aimed at our economy at at 'gringos.'
Beter yet, every time you engage a service company, book a hotel, make restaurant reservations, etc... ask them if they can verify in writing that they do not employ any illegal aliens and all workers are in this country legally. If they will not, explain to them that you will not use their services.
If every American did this it would go a long way to solving this problem from within.
I'd much rather it go back to Spain. During the French occupation down there, a couple of French snuck across the border into Texas, and the two tried to rape my great great grandmother. My great grandfather and his brothers, who were in the barn working, heard her screams, and they dealth with the French appropriately. Two trees were planted in the spots of newly-loosened dirt so that the family would never forget.
Poor Mexicans would have been better off if the French had won.
I don't know why we don't have the "Great American Walkout", no one go to work, no one buy anything at all, nor eat out, or buy gas. Stock up and just take a two week vacation at home, until we see a fence start up at the border, and around D.C. j/k, and the deportations begin.
