In another internet forum, a former FReeper is monitoring police scanner frequencies in Santa Ana, CA. He reported earlier that all riot control units were called to the area as a riot was beginning to erupt.
Minutes ago he reported that the radio traffic indicated that shots had been fired.
More info as it comes in. Does anyone live near Santa Ana, is there any confirmation on local TV or radio? Anyone have a police scanner or an online link?

Prayers up for all the police, firemen, and emergency personnel. It's going to be a long night for them in SoCal.
Problems reported now in Vista (northern SD county off of highway 78 between the 5 and 15).
Had just started to write a post here asking if Karl was hearing anything on the scanner and to see if anyone else in the area was hearing sirens off of 15 every 4-10 minutes (patrol cars in groups of about 3-6 racing north on 15) for the past hour or so...
But then it came on as breaking news with a brief report saying that all police were being asked to respond to Vista to deal with immigration unrest.
It's obviously still ongoing as I'm still hearing sirens every few minutes (it's now more like every 6-10 minutes).

Reports for help from all police to respond to Vista, California for unrest related to the immigration protests.
I'd been hearing sirens racing north on 15 for over the last 50 minutes and was trying to find out what was going on, as after hearing and seeing groups of 2-6 patrol cars racing up the freeway sirens wailing every 4-8 minutes made it apparent something was going on.
