And as soon as they become legal and unemployable they'll vote as a bloc for the Democratic Party.

This is exactly why it doesn't make any sense for the GOP and big business to be on the wrong side of this issue. The GOP is going to get destroyed over this issue and then big business will take a beating with the socialists in charge.

If big business really wants lower expenses then they should push for tax reform and other measures that would far exceed any saving they receive from employing illegals.

I had no problem getting lunch here in Southern California (El Segundo/Hawthorne area). Went to Big Lots (a discount store like .99 cent stores) and the black female checker stated "it's easy shopping today isn't it?" I replied "it sure is and it's very nice without all the long lines." We got to talking and she does not agree with illegals coming into this country either and her mom watches FoxNews (surprise!) instead of the Alphabet Soup News.

We have one guy who called out from our department and most of us are a bit disgusted, but not surprised. Many of our employees are veterans (Navy and Air Force) and are sickened by the Spanish version of our National Anthem.

I sent a nice angry letter to Ralphs Grocery Stores and followed up today by mailing my Ralphs "card" and keychain mini-card asking them to "close my account."

I sent $150 to Jim Gilchrist of the Minutemen and spent $85.00 at Big Lots. Still have to gas up two cars after work and hit Wal Mart for incidentals that I've been waiting to purchase. John and Ken are paying people back for their shopping fees every 1/2 hour, up to $600+ bucks.

After work I'm taking Mom and son out for dinner if there's time. Not to Denny's though! I'm done with Denny's after I called them this morning and the representative confirmed that they are supporting their employees at the protest. I told her "thank you, you just lost a customer." She said "OK, that's fine," as I hung up. I wonder how many others called and said the same thing to her.

Let's see how many illegals they have hired, fine the Corp, deport the illegals and close down their shops!!

And if the hiring has been deliberate, file criminal charges against those responsible. Not necessarily the company, but against those individuals responsible.

That's just a normal day, isn't it? Whenever I've had to sit on the Mexico side for hours, the Mexicans have always tried to ram my (usually rent) car even when we're just inching ahead - they try to hit it, so I'll back off and let them move ahead, then another one jumps in and does the same thing.

They don't care about their cars and I'll have to pay a fortune if anything happens to mine. One of the border agents told me one time I was lucky to be alive and to still have the rent car, especially in one piece, after just 4 hours of shopping right there in the gringo souvenir district. Never, ever again.

Did you call corporate or one of the restaurants? If you called corporate and they gave you a "OK, that's fine" type response then I really have to question their customer relations department.

Does anyone know, by chance, if the illegals boycotted emergency rooms, social service offices and border cross points? You know all those places that corporations use to subsidize their cheap labor.

Also, perhaps it might be a good idea to not only charge owners/CEOs of companies that hire illegal aliens but to make them serve their sentences in Mexican prisons.

Indeed. It is a privately held company but would rank in the top 20 of the Fortune 500 if they were public.

States went after tobacco companies for medicare and insurance expenses - the states should go after Cargill for the drain on social services that the illegals cause.

I think that's why we are seeing the Democrats joining the "Build the Wall Now!" bandwagon.

Hillary's! argument is that it makes no sense to give amnesty while leaving the border open, thus we have to "Secure the Border" before we give away amnesty to 20 million...if we don't we just get another wave from the human tsunami

What still befuddles me is how our Republican congresscritters have been so completely and absolutely outmaneuvered on this issue.

I suspect this tactic will convince enough of us out here in the sticks to vote for the Devil. The logic being "Hey, Dems will screw us but at least they'll close the borders"

But you know they won't....but they will say that and win back congress.

checking in from San Diego - there are a couple hundred demonstrators in Chicano Park (underneath the Coronado Bridge), it looks like an impromptu demonstration, and there are Mexican flags everywhere

No Mexican flags here in the 'Burgh (Pittsburgh).

That would be a real stupid thing to do in front on the younzers.........like tugging on Superman's cape.

I hope so but it might not stay red too much longer if the national GOP doesn't get on the right side of this issue.

It's your red state that's initiating the restrictions. Politics are local: city, county and state.

One of my favorite mexican restuarants is staying open.

Same here in the L.A. harbor area. Our many year favorite mexican restaurant, privately owned, wanted to let their customers know that they don't support this "silly march". I called a local El Torito, and no one answered. I called a local car wash, and no one answered. They won't get my biz again.

Called Senators Feinstein and Boxer, whose workers wouldn't give out information about their bosses' thoughts on the Mexican march issue. I called Jane Harman's office. One didn't answer at all, the local one answered, and after listening to a long message in Spanish, a real person came on the line, but she didn't know what Ms. Harman's position was on this issue. I called the Governator's office, but they also "didn't know" what his position was on this issue.

She did say that "we're being swamped by calls".

All of the above four, who are supposed to be representing California citizens, are hiding from their constituents.

Sorry for the slow response I missed your post.

You asked: "I know I'm just a simpleton..but if it's common knowledge that the workers at these meat plants are illegals, why doesn't the government just RAID THEM?????"

Unfortunately the obvious answer is the right one. Someone is on the take.

They get raided on occasion. They even send people back to mexico. However it is all window dressing.

In one instance I am personally familiar with, the workers were flown to Mexico City, while the families stayed here. The plant closed for a week and the workers were back the next week.

Probably a company paid or more likely a tax payer paid round trip home.

They become anti competitive and the competition either has to hire illegals to compete or go under(Then they are bought out). There are other factors too. Search Tyson Foods on Google. Add FDA to your search. Add INS to your search. You will see.

That is why we don't want to go after a small company. It would not serve any purpose. These guys are big enough to influence our politicians.

Don't forget to Fax Your Senator. FREE FAX HERE

Let's beat them at their own game.

:)Easy Dose It:)

Agreed but the president and the GOP congress are seen by many as the face of the GOP. By being on the wrong side of this issue and many other like out of control spending, it will have a dampening effect on GOP turnout - especially in a mid-term election year.

Also, if the national GOP gets it's way and amnesty is granted for the existing illegals, Red states like Georgia could turn Blue overnight.
