Pataki: Illegal Immig Boycott 'Terrible'
NewsMax.com ^ | April 30, 2006 | Carl Limbacher

New York Gov. George Pataki is blasting a nationwide boycott by illegal aliens planned for Monday, calling it a "terrible" idea.

"I think it's just terrible," Pataki told WABC Radio host Larry Kudlow on Saturday. "You don't take a demonstration to the streets for a political cause that's going to threaten our schools and close down businesses."

The New York Republican suggested that if illegal immigrants participate in a work boycott, they might be fired.

"They have to show up for work if they want to continue to have a job," he said. "There are far better ways to gain the support of the American people than shutting down businesses and looking to disrupt entire communities."

On the larger question of immigration reform, Pataki said that border enforcement should be the priority.

"First of all, clearly the most important thing is that we have to control our borders," he told WABC. "When the first act of tens of thousands of people coming to this country is to break the law, it just sends the wrong message" to grant illegals amnesty.

The New York governor, whose state has the fourth largest population of illegals, said national security is another top concern, explaining:

"You can never be secure if there are thousands of people crossing the border and you don't know who they are, why they're coming here, how long they're going to be here or where they're going to go."

Forget a wall between Mexico and the US. We should erect one around D.C.. Fence in the criminals destroying our country.

There needs to be a law prohibiting the IRS from collecting taxes from anyone but the individual being taxed. No employers with holding. That is the only way to control D.C..

It just gets better and better.
Like the owner of the OBI on LI used to say on his billboards, "Get out of New York While You Still Can!"

The only option for most of us that I can see is to donate to and assist Minutemen to construct a bodacious fence. If D.C. doesn't want to lessen the influx of job stealers, we, the citizens, can do it ourselves. That, to me, is patriotism and self-preservation. The job is not projected to be horrendously expensive; FR has a lot of members. $150 builds one foot. Get your neighbors and everyone you know and start to pony up the bucks. Let's save American jobs and the American future.

Perhaps Chris Simcox would agree to put markers for the names of the people contributing the money for that portion, e.g., this one hundred feet funded by the patriotic citizens of Kalamazoo, MI. Perhaps VFW's or American Legion Posts will take this cause under their wings.

Well, my opinion of him just took a real beating. No surprise here that NY has such a high percentage of illegals. It's such a welfare state. I wish we were in a position where we could leave.

If you want to have some fun, stand a good distance from the criminal immigrants with a telephoto lens and take pictures of the crowd. Just be sure to have an escape route planned.

Don't forget term limits. There should be no career politicians; it's something you do for a few years then you get a job.

"The New York Republican suggested that if illegal immigrants participate in a work boycott, they might be fired."

Fired! What the Hell are they doing with a job? Never mind firing them. Deport them!

On the other hand, it's nice to see that a bulb as dim as Pataki gets it about the border. I'm not sure I believe him. He's probably just pursuing his fantasy about running for president.

And with those taxes and the attendant drop in quality of life, how long before your property value goes in the toilet?
I couldn't fight the battle alone in NY, so I got out. Got myself to a poor state that holds no incentive for the invaders and where they will most assuredly, not be welcome in my lifetime. If you just hang out waiting for your gov't to do something, your toast!

BTW, this state has the highest percentage of home ownership in the nation. A great deal of which is owned outright.
