He ought to be ordering half the SOB's in the room arrested and jailed for destroying our nations will to fight.
Truly a move that the Chinese or Stalin would be proud to call his/their own.....

I agree, this whole event makes my skin crawl. I didn't post annything last night, because I just didn't have the patience to be flamed. did you see the guests walking in - the scum of the earth like Madeline Albright, all the leftists in the media, hollywood people.
Given that there are US soldiers dying in combat every day, the President should gracefully decline to do events like this - the tone is simply not right.

The president is played for a fool in these demeaning spectacles.
And he is no comic. When you are the president, there will always be a crowd of Hariet Miers types to laugh at your great wit. But most of last night's crowd snears at the president. This does not fundamentally change on one magic night.
Stop embarassing yourself Mr. President. I've had to turn off cable news because I can not stand to hear the continuous replays.
P.S. Public lines about the gracious and dignified first lady being "hot" are especially unfunny.

Stalin would be proud to call his/their own...Go tell it to Abe Lincolns ghost.
He knew what to do when his domestic political enemies threatened the union.
FDR knew what to do as well.
This President is clueless.
The enemy understands that W has screwed the pooch.
He has allowed leftists at home and abroad to win the propaganda war.
The administration hasn't even waged a credible domestic propaganda campaign to drum up support for the WOT.
It's basically incompetence.
The enemy has a strategy and a gameplan.
Our game plan depends on who is in the White House in 2008.
McInsane?
Shrillary?
Jon Queri?
Giuliani?
Be very afraid.

Go ahead and rationalize your comment however you like, it's stupid and it's still something Stalin and the communist Chinese would be proud of.
GREAT company to ally yourself with there bud.

I'll never forget the WHCA one in 1999. That one was held the weekend after Elian was abducted at gunpoint from his relatives' home in Miami. Watching all of that with those self-important Annointed People That Know What's Good For You was surreal.
If that was the one I'm thinking of, it was, indeed, a sickening affair.
To my memory, Drudge wore his T-shirt with the picture of the fed pointing a machine gun at a crying Elian and his uncle and captioned with the phrase "I'm from the government. I'm here to help you." He got into the greeting line to grovel before the bent one's feet and when his turn came, he pulled open his suit coat to reveal the T-shirt. X42 just turned red and all of the other presstitutes gasped and b*tched at Drudge for showing such disrespect.
They're such tawdry, worn-out sluts. Even the most wretched of degraded prostitutes have a dignity from working for their bread or crack. For the fifth column fourth estate, there is no similar excuse. Wit rare exceptions, they're pigs. Nothing but pigs.

It would be an interesting poll question:
Who gave the worst performance?
A) Steven Colbert at the 2006 White House Correspondent's Dinner
B) David Letterman at the 1995 Academy Awards

Steven Colbert was a let down.
There is a difference between making fun of somebody and insulting them. Colbert crossed the line.
