I haven't read the whole thread, but before I make a comment, do they have a suspect in this case? Has anyone been arrested?

To be honest, like many of the folks here, I don't know.

I simply joined the threat to point out how our own replica of the Statue of Liberty at Alki Point in Seattle has been routinely vandalised (covered in garbage, painted, parts hacked off, etc) for the past 30-40 years, by local citizens, and I never saw this level of outrage.

There's even been several threads on it here on FR but they drew little ire.
