Rush did not "plea bargain": "accepting sentencing for a much less serious charge" He did not plea guilty to anything. He pled "not guilty". It's called "delayed adjudication", it's different. He is legally "not guilty" of anything. Thanks so much for stating the facts.
I do hope all those insisting Rush "copped a plea," and all such absurdly uninformed comments, take note.

I am open for correction. I just got home and missed hours of the thread. I love Rush, always have and I wish him well.

Here in Texas we call it deferred adjudication. I'm never guilty of speeding, hint, hint.

According to WABC radio news just now, there is NO agreement on this case. The agreement is now in the attorney's hands and Rush has yet to officially sign off on this.

I just watched the first few minutes of "On The Record w/Greta VanSusteren." She had her panel of "experts" on, three lawyers and an ex-DC cop I think they are. I used to have a little respect for these guys. Every single one took the hard-left line that Rush got away with something because he's rich...and white. The lawyers all came down with amnesia that only seemed to affect their legal educations and the black ex-cop totally backed the race-card. Pathetic partisan leftists to a man.
To Greta's credit she argued as best she could about the facts and the law, and seemed incredulous at her panel's positions, but they cowed her in the end. The all looked sheepish but held fast to their "rich-guy's law," "white-guy's law."

Some people are interested in the truth, others are not.
As I read things, if all goes well for Rush in 18 months, there will be no police record of any sort of any of the alleged charges against Rush.

Technically, it is even different than not guilty. In the eyes of the law, it is neither guilty nor not guilty.....
It is better.
In 18 months, if all is well and the terms of the settlement have been met, CASE DISMISSED.
