He plead not guilty. It is up to the Prosecutor to prove otherwise. He ain't doing it.

He made a DEAL that his own attorney took to the DA.

Odds are that it was an Alford pleading meaning that he refuses to plead guilty, but acknowledges that a finding of guilty is most likely to happen in court. It has all the same consequences of a guilty plea, but instead of pleading guilty or nolo contendere, one simply pleads not guilty to avoid court, but accepts the consequences anyway.
